Jackson Duckworth 2011
Mississippi First
February 9, 2012

This buck was taken by my 10 year old son on 12/23/2011 in Batesville, Mississippi. This was his third deer and his first ever buck!

I've not had it properly scored yet, however it measured 15 inches wide, 23 inches long, and 5 inches in circumference at the base.

The buck was walking facing directly away from us and when he stopped and turned his head back toward us, my son made an outstanding shot from around 85 yards through the neck. The buck dropped in his tracks and never flinched. Needless to say, my jaw hit the ground quicker than the deer did.

I'm 41 years old and have been hunting as long as I can remember. I've never taken a buck this size myself and I'll tell you, if and when I ever do, it will never be able to surpass the feeling I had watching my son take this one. Am I bragging, well maybe a little, but I needed to tell somebody and I couldn't think of a better outlet than your website.

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to share this moment, for we all know how rare they can be. Let's keep our young people involved in the great outdoors. You wouldn't believe what an impact in can have on a child.
