Troy M. Sheldon 2011
Pending World's Record Mtn. Goat
February 1, 2012

Its down to a Judges Panel, but the Boone and Crockett Club's Records Department has received and accepted the entry paperwork for a Rocky Mountain goat that exceeds the current World's Record by 2/8-inches.

Kentucky resident, Troy M. Sheldon traveled to the Sitkine River region of British Columbia for a backpack mountain goat hunt with Hedi Gutfrucht of Northwest Ranching and Outfitting. On October 8, 2011, Sheldon dropped a billy that, after the required 60-day drying period scored 57-0/8 inches.

The Official Scoring was done in Sheldon's home state by Official Measurer, Kristina Brunjes with the Kentucky Game and Fish Department. With all the required paperwork received, the entry was accepted by the Boone and Crockett Club's Records Department on 1/31/12.

The procedure for verifying a new World's Record will be the convening of a special Judges Panel to re-score the trophy and verify all measurements.

Currently there is a tie for the World's Record.

Costal British Columbia ranks #1 of all states, provinces, and regions for the total number of Boone and Crockett Mountain goat entries.

Sheldon was hunting with a Tikka T3 in .270 WSM loaded with 150 gr. Winchester Ballistic Silvertips.
