John Gisi 2009
New Mexico Non-Typ
October 13, 2009

New Mexico produced this 40-inch non-typical with a reported unofficial gross score of 260 non-typical or 220 typical for Governor's Tag holder, John Gisi.

Each year the state offers special auction tags to raise additional funds for deer programs. For trophies that could be scored either as a typical or non-typical it is up to the trophy owner to decide which way to score and enter his or her trophy into B&C records. For B&C records, velvet must be stripped before official scoring. If these scores hold after 60-days drying and an official score, entered as a typical, this buck could be the new NM state record. The current record is 213-4/8. The current state record non-typical is 306-2/8.
