Thirty amazing-but-true stories, each starring a determined hunter and a world-class trophy - most taken without a guide on public land - are the featured attractions in a new book by the Boone and Crockett Club.

"Big Trophies, Epic Hunts" is a collection of incredible tales from Boone and Crockett's trophy archives.

"These are the real-world stories behind some of the most legendary, top-scoring trophies ever recognized by the Boone and Crockett Club," said Julie Tripp, director of publications for the Club.

Along with 29 more great stories, the book also includes:

  • An introduction by Jason Matzinger, host of "Into High Country" on the Sportsman Channel
  • An in-depth look at the Club's highest honor, the Sagamore Hill Medal, together with stories about all 17 winners, by Hanspeter Giger
  • A bonus chapter about the science and application of trophy records, by Boone and Crockett Club Assistant Director of Big Game Records Justin Spring.

"Big Trophies, Epic Hunts" is 6x9 inches and 280 pages. It's available as a $29.95 hardcover edition, of which only 500 copies were printed, as well as a $19.95 paperback. Boone and Crockett members ($35 annual dues includes subscription to "Fair Chase" magazine) receive a discount on both editions if purchased directly from the Club.
