Boone and Crockett Club: Bernhardt Right Choice for New Interior Secretary

The Boone and Crockett Club supports President Trump's nomination of David Bernhardt to be the new Secretary of the Interior.

"Having an avid sportsmen at the head of the Interior who understands wildlife and natural resource issues and management is a huge plus," said Timothy C. Brady, president of the Boone and Crockett Club. "When it comes to those things that are important to sportsmen, including healthy populations of fish and game, and open access to them, having a proven leader like Bernhardt makes all the difference"

Bernhardt has been the Deputy Secretary under Secretary, Ryan Zinke since July 2017 and Acting Secretary after Zinke's departure.

Brady said, "We've working with David already through the Hunting and Shooting Sports Conservation Council (HSSCC) and he has expressed a keen interest in listening and then acting on common sense recommendations that will benefit wildlife and all those who value these resources."

HSSCC is a newly formed federal advisory council charged with providing recommendations to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to benefit wildlife, public partnerships, and the hunting and shooting sports.
