MOHAB is the Montana High Adventure Base – the nation’s premiere wilderness expedition training and instruction program serving the High Adventure needs of Boy Scouts and Venturers worldwide. MOHAB’s uniqueness is defined by its remote locationwilderness character, and multi-sport expedition travel.
  • The MOHAB Curriculum focuses on ultralight backpacking, wilderness packrafting, expedition leadership, and conservation.

  • MOHAB Programs are available to entire units (troops, teams, and crews), or to individual or small groups of Scouts coming to MOHAB without their unit. 

  • MOHAB Programs span the range of difficulty from easy to hard, and include both Wilderness Trekking and Wilderness Packrafting expeditions, one or two weeks in length.

Who runs MOHAB?

MOHAB is a High Adventure program operated by the Montana Council of the Boy Scouts of America, in partnership with the Boone and Crockett Club. Luke Coccoli is the Camp Director of MOHAB and the Director of Conservation Programs for the Boone and Crockett Club.

Where is MOHAB?

MOHAB is located near Dupuyer, Montana (80 miles northwest of Great Falls, Montana) at the Boone and Crockett Club’s Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch. The Ranch is located on property adjacent to the boundary of the Bob Marshall Wilderness.

Wilderness trekking and packrafting training program for Scouts and Venturers in America’s remotest wilderness!

The Montana High Adventure Base (MOHAB) is a nationally accredited Boy Scouts of America High Adventure Base with 10 times as much room to roam as Philmont. MOHAB is open for Boy Scout troops and venturing crews as well as their adult leaders. MOHAB offers participants basecamp training and hands on experiences that will provide them with the opportunity to safely lead themselves on their own wilderness expedition.
