The Boone and Crockett Club, the oldest wildlife conservation group in the United States, today praised the introduction of the America's Transportation Infrastructure Act of 2019, a bipartisan bill to reauthorize and improve many of the nation's surface transportation programs.

According to the Boone and Crockett Club, one of the most significant pieces of legislation in the history of wildlife conservation, now almost 50 years old, is undergoing much-needed steps toward modernization to improve efficiency.

The Boone and Crockett Club thanks the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture for the bipartisan vote last week that moves the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (H.R. 7567) out of committee and to the full House for consideration.

As the organization that was founded by Theodore Roosevelt to reverse the decline of big game populations more than a century ago and has tracked their recovery ever since, the Boone and Crockett Club today reflects on the tremendous strides that have been made in wildlife and habitat conservation over the past several decades.

According to the Boone and Crockett Club animal rights and anti-hunting groups have again misconstrued the meaning of Fair Chase. This time, it involves baiting, which they claim should be banned because it is not Fair Chase.

According to the Boone and Crockett Club, the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) should be fully and permanently funded as intended when this law passed in 1964.
