Today the Director of Big Game Records for Boone and Crockett Club, Justin Spring, attended the Great American Outdoors Act Celebration at the Roosevelt Arch, which spans the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. This is the very spot where Roosevelt gave a speech in 1903. Justin spoke on behalf of Club President, Timothy C. Brady. Here's what he had to say...
The Boone and Crockett Club lauded President Trump’s signing of the Great American Outdoors Act today as a tremendous boon to conservation and maintenance of our nation’s federal public lands. The bill passed with overwhelming bipartisan support in the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives where almost three-quarters of members in both chambers voted for the legislation. The Great American Outdoors Act provides full and permanent funding of $900 million per year for the Land and Water Conservation Fund and also provides $9.5 billion funding over five years for federal land management agencies to tackle their deferred maintenance backlogs.
