Do You Know a Scout Troop Who is Looking for High Adventure This Summer?

Montana High Adventure Base - MOHAB is the destination!

The Boone and Crockett Club's MOHAB (Montana High Adventure Base) provides an experience for older scouts (13 years plus) like none other in Scouting. The program is built with a Boy Scouts of America participant who has had backpacking experience in mind.

The journey begins at the Great Falls International Airport where scouts meet the MOHAB program coordinator for a 2 hour drive northwest the foothills of the Rocky Mountain Front range. MOHAB is based out of the Club's 6,000 acre Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Ranch (TRMR) near Dupuyer Montana, program activities and camping experience are both world class.

The TRMR Base Camp provides the backdrop for the first days of the adventure while scouts prepare for life on the trail.  Sharpen skills on the shooting range or take a rod out to the local stream for some of fly fishing.  Learn to follow Wilderness trails, take some time to find out more about wildlife of the region or that might be seen while on the trail, or take an evening hike to hopefully see elk grazing.

Elect to take a pre-determined backcountry trek or build your crew's own route. Hike over the continental divide? Select a campsite with fishing opportunities?  With over 1 million acres in The Bob Marshall Wilderness area to select from, the choices are unlimited. Off the trail and back at the ranch finds your crew taking in more MOHAB programs and well deserved rest before a steak dinner and closing ceremony.  Looking for adventure? This is it!

Montana High Adventure Base is headed into its 4th year. Since 2006 MOHAB has had 133 scouts participate.

Offered to scout troops throughout the United States in working partnership with the Montana Council BSA.

MOHAB begins the first week of July 2009 - from Thursday to Thursday each week (7 days) until August 6th.
