Matt Tyree 2010
Muzzleloader buck for a military man
September 30, 2010

Hi guys,

My young friend Matt Tyree has recently finished his third tour of duty in Iraq & Afghanistan, so we headed to Kansas for the early muzzleloader season at my ranch there in Cowley County.

Matt took this great typical ten pointer from an improvised ground blind. I am not an official scorer, but hard scored this buck, even taking the 'lower' 1/8th on several I thought could go to the next higher one. He green scored 172-3/8 with only 2-6/8 in deductions for a net green of 169-5/8. The buck has 39 inches of mass and 24 inch main beams as well.

His smile was a foot wide when I pulled up to his stand. I swear, he was actually jumping up and down and waving his orange vest at me as soon as I came in sight 300 yards away !!!

It absolutely could not happen to a nicer young man, who deserves all our thanks for his service to our country, like his many comrades.
