Bill Crutchfield, Jr., MD 2006
Re-Writing History
December 26, 2007

This buck was posted on Trophy Watch previously, but with continued emails, we decided to give it a "bump".

Bill Crutchfield, Jr. was the lucky hunter on this tremendous non-typical whitetail. He was hunting in southern Charles County when he saw a buck that would make most people weak. The buck scores an impressive 268-1/8, making it the new Maryland state record. The former state record, taken by John W. Poole in Montgomery County in 1987, scores 228-4/8.

Maryland may well be one of the real "sleeper" states for whitetail deer. Kevin C. Miller also harvested a 194 typical in Kent County in 2002 that received the Fourth Award at B&C's 25th Big Game Awards.
