Cole Murphy, MT 2004
Peg-Leg Montana Muley
July 27, 2005

When Cole Murphy first spotted this buck, he thought it only had one antler. The one he could see was enough to get him excited, though. He made a successful stalk and was able to take the fine buck. Imagine Cole's surprise when he walked up and discovered this! The malformed left antler was due to the deer having not four, but three legs! It was missing the bottom 10-12" of its back right leg. A small black pad, like a dog's paw, had formed on the bottom of the "peg-legged" buck. Cole's trophy buck, reported to be 38" wide, might not fit the mold of a trophy buck but Cole's 2004 Montana trophy is for sure the trophy of a lifetime.
